August Update

My 3rd year of graduate school starts in exactly 2 weeks! Time to hurry up and feel ready before I feel completely behind again. For those who are wondering what on earth I am studying and how much longer I’m studying it: Political Science, specializing in Comparative Politics (world politics, not the tea party), 3-4 more years. No, Mom, I am not doing environmental policy, and no, family, that doesn’t mean I transferred schools. It just means I finally got around to correcting all of you
.
While we’re at it: the horses inked onto my shoulder are not cave paintings.
So…
I updated my Journalism page to include everything I’ve written for Inside Triathlon and Triathlete this year.
I also made travel arrangements for Rev3 Maine! It’s actually happening! After a whole summer off of racing, dealing with back pain and bike fits and do I get a shoe orthotic etc etc, I’m sticking my nose out there and doing what I love most: racing. I am not sure I’m fully out of the injury-woods just yet, niggles here and there still set me on a tailspin of worry (especially after doing stupid things like bending over and picking up aid station cups at the Boulder 70.3 for nearly two hours, that nearly wrecked me!), but in many ways I feel much stronger, better and happier than ever. Still working on “smarter” too.
It’s been a fantastic summer.
