I am the Revolutionary kind
Category: Rev3 | 5 Comments
I've done two Revolution3 triathlons - Costa Rica in February, and Knoxville a week and a half ago.
I've amended my upcoming race plans so that I can do another REV3 event next weekend in Connecticut - REV3 Quassy on June 5. I was planning to race Escape from Alcatraz that same day, but based on my experiences in Costa Rica and Knoxville, I decided to race REV3 instead!
Here's why:
Transition is incredibly tidy and well laid out - aesthetics mean a lot to me, and REV3's use of discreet wood bike stands instead of tall hanging racks is just one example of how they keep transition looking ...

Today was my third time racing the Columbia Triathlon, after racing Elite Amateur in 2008 (10th elite amateur in 2:24:xx) and Pro in 2009 (terriblith place in 2:28:xx, first no wetsuit swim). Today was a blast! I've improved - 7th pro in 2:22:19.
My brother and his girlfriend came, which was fun because I love them and because I've gotten to spend the last two hours looking at photos.

At the First Endurance seminar I went to back in February, Robert Kunz said that for an Olympic distance race you really shouldn’t “need” any calories. In the past I’ve eaten a ton during Olympic distance races – a full drink mix bottle, two to three gels on the bike, then one or two on the run. At that point I might as well have a cupcake and some pizza!
Yesterday, I decided to try ...

Revolution3 Knoxville Race Weekend

Yesterday I raced the REV3 Knoxville Triathlon. I was really happy with my race, and the weekend will go down as one of my favorite race weekends in a long time!
I flew in on Friday on the same flight as fellow Boulderites Matt Reed and Julie Dibens. Ahem, cough, we are all totally important, including me, since I know them, so I’m really famous, etc.
Except as I was congratulating myself on being special, they rolled out of baggage claim with a driver to deliver them to their hotel rooms... I wrestled my overabundance of luggage onto a Smarte Carte to tromp over to America’s most inefficient car rental counter. Famous indeed! On the plus side, instead of a hotel room, ...
