Well, that was definitely a decent Spring Break. It started with a bike ride and ended with a swim and a run, and there was lots of schoolwork in the middle.
So basically it was the same as my real life.
I'd originally planned to go to San Diego and race the SuperSeal Triathlon for Spring Break. But on Tuesday, in a panic of grading and "remembering why I am here" (for school), I canceled the trip. It was a hard decision, but definitely the right one. I made great progress on my papers and side bonus, I was here for the Boulder Spring Half Marathon! A couple weeks ago, I got a totally kick-rear-end mountain bike. I love it!
But I'm still a bit scared. I can't wait until I finally stop apologizing to other riders out on the trail, saying "sorry, it's my first time riding it." Which, only one out of 5 times so far has that been the truth. But still, I'm keeping my spoke protectors and handlebar "caution" sticker on there as long as possible, you know, for newbie-authenticity's sake.
I am a total newbie. Trails that seem fully wide and safe and bomb-able when I am on two feet morph into insurmountable (i.e. dismount and walk) death-traps when I am on two wheels. I feel a little bit like ...

Last week I went to a nutrition seminar put on by one of my new sponsors for this year on Team Trakkers/REV3, First Endurance. Honestly I expected to just go and be a warm body, because duh, I've been racing since 2004 and therefore I know everything there is to know about nutrition.
