So hooray for the last week of my first semester. Couldn’t come soon enough, I’m starting to feel so fried and dum, and hungry because for four days in a row I have been out of milk and food but I keep forgetting to go to the store! Right now I am proctoring the final exam for my Environmental Policy undergrad class. I’m dreading grading it a little bit because it’s all essay questions, 80 kids…

ONE OF WHOM JUST CAME TO ASK ME A QUESTION AND HE HAD NOTES WRITTEN ALL OVER HIS HAND! Are you kidding me. He started talking and I pointed to his hand like “what is that”… “uh, my notes from when I was studying?” Then he put his hand in his pocket. Jeeez.

Mine's in the middleIn more positive news, I submitted both of my projects this week: the wildfire mitigation project (paper plus presentation), and the effect of religiosity on environmentalism project (poster presentation plus paper). I posted a small version of my religiosity/environmentalism poster on Facebook, a few people said they’d be interested in seeing it but after the poster presentation (in front of the whole department, LE OMG OF FREAKOUT) I revised my models quite a bit, and I want to update the poster to reflect my updated findings. One of my longer-term goals is to make a “research” section on this website so that I can post evidence occasional brain possession. Likewise, a page with my IT columns will appear soon as well.

This coming Tuesday I have a statistics final, Wednesday I have a poster critique due, Thursday grades are due, on the 20th my next Inside Tri column is due, THEN I finally get to read “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest” and redesign my website to reflect both the brain presence and NEW SPONSORS FOR 2011!!!

It’s been a slight challenge to get my training done, but I’d say the challenge comes more from the weather and daylight hours than from the time commitment of training. Having to wait until mid-day for my frostbite-prone toes to feel even remotely capable of cycling kind of restricts my overall options! Thus, I’m not too worried about what this week’s training (11 hrs) might portend for its Spring semester counterpart… at which time, rather than debating between eggnog and wassail and convincing myself I totally need a new [any clothing item of any kind, when will it end??] purchased off the internet, I’m going to be hustling to get papers and grading done AND be fit for Duathlon Nationals, Rev3 Knoxville and beyond.

TTYS, friends. I got me some grading to do.
