No, this wasn't the turkey we had for dinner My sister and I actually *were* having fun November Rain in Maryland is comforting
I've been on a bit of a blogging break since, well, since school started pretty much. But more recently I was on a training break (it lasted five days and then had to get revived for three) and now I'm on Thanksgiving break! These are all the good kind of break, by the way. Anyhow, in case anyone is curious about what my schoolwork is all about this semester, some gory details: One project I am doing is on fire mitigation policies in Colorado. Are prescribed burns underutilized? If so, is it politically driven? How so? Are policies more likely to change in the wake of a wildfire disaster than in expectation of one? It's been pretty interesting so far - the issue ...
I called my mom on Saturday to ask her if her hairdresser, Bonnie, who is awesome and cheap and has a bunch of blue-hairs comprising most of her clientele, would be available to do some maintenance on my chlorined and rubber-banded mop of hair during the 3 days I'll be home for Thanksgiving. I told you last week, I'm using it at Christmas." "Oh," she ...
Running how I like to imagine myself RunningWhat a great end to 2010! Yesterday I raced the Amica 19.7 Phoenix. It was a blast! The course was challenging, beautiful, and well-staffed, I got to hang out with my favorite Eagleman 2009 roommate and fellow PowerBar Team Elite member Amy Kloner, and I came home with some cash! A quick race report before I go write an essay on small-n case study methodology: the swim was OK. It was great because I got to wear my Rocket Science speedsuit ...
I went as "I thought Halloween was tomorrow?". On Sunday I did my last hard workouts of 2010. Then, spoiler alert: This Friday I'll hand in a research proposal, Saturday jet to Phoenix, Sunday my last race of 2010, and beyond that, ask my social secretary? I'll be home for 10 days at Thanksgiving, mom is thrilled! (right, Sal??) Making plans, indeed.
