We all know that I know better than to say “here’s a few”. It’s “here ARE a few”. Secondary to that, we also all know that I definitely don’t love everything, although I do at least like most things on that list.
A more accurate post would have said something like this:
I woke up this morning and thought crap, my alarm sucks, so does morning, so does pretty much everything, I mean what is even the point. Crap. But then I got out of bed anyway because I remembered I didn’t have to swim until later! So my dread of general movement lifted somewhat, at least I wasn’t leaving warm bed for cold water, plus I had to hurry up and eat breakfast so I could watch the last episode of Skins before work and before Ben mailed the DVD back today so we get a new DVD by Saturday, which we reeally need because we have a reeally boring weekend planned, what with our 5 houseguests and 2 race expos and 2 races and big party. I wanted to deny it, but yes I got up early to watch a TV show before work.
And then I went to work, oh and had an altercation with lunch, which got sorted out, Ben brought me lunch at work yay I love him! Work was fine. Miraculously, I got zero (yay!!!) emails from this lady at AT&T who thinks that putting everything in capslock with a million exclamation points and red “urgent” flags will somehow make people want to respond to her right away and help her with whatever she needs. Thanks to this welcome respite, work was awesome. And then I took the bus home and there was this smelly loud guy at the stop who thankfully didn’t get on my bus, instead I had a mom and her two screaming kids two rows ahead of me and the bus had some hinge in the flexy middle seating area that super needed WD-40. I listened to my iPod. And, a guy asked if he could open our window next to us, which was fine until I realized how FREEZING it was outside but I had already said he could open it because I am pretty sure he was deaf and he really seemed to want that window open so I acted like an agreeable person and subsequently regretted it. I froze the whole way home, also it started raining, and I read Travels in Siberia II in the New Yorker. The Siberian mosquitoes sound inTENSE. So does the lack of trash cans. How many years would it take to clean up the highway there? Does Wall-E have a present-day market?! Still, I totally want to go to Siberia, and these two articles are exactly why I keep renewing my New Yorker.
Then I got off the bus. Then I spent about half of forever putting on my wetsuit and Ben and I went swimming, but he lasted only 4 minutes because he was cold, because it takes two forevers to get a wetsuit onto someone who has no use of his dominant arm, not to mention a cast on that arm. We both get tired of the ordeal. So I swam alone, which was actually fine, I enjoyed my swim even though it’s really nice to be out there with Ben and periodically randomly check on each other and play silly water games (a.k.a. swim, of course). The lake was pretty quiet and the water temp/air temp combo was perfect for a wetsuit. Then I ran and my ankle didn’t really hurt, yay!
Then Phil came over and I played with Leo and we had dinner and Phil helped me with my back and legs. Here’s what I realized I love:
Phil
His dog Leo
The New Yorker
Oh and I made the salad, which Ben ate at least half of it (made for 7) so it must not have been terrible, yay! I unintentionally skimped on the cheese, kiwis, and sunflower seeds a little bit though, so I brought more out for Ben and Rory when they were polishing it all off.
Then Ben and Rory stole my computer after I was super helpful and made them delicious salad and fixed the internet for EVERYONE so that we ALL could write on our OWN computers, but despite my awesomeness they stole my computer while I was off being helpful and then they wrote lies about me and rainbow fucking smileyface butterflies on my own blog. I hate them.
Yay! Much better
