Today was our final day of camp. It was raining again, we’re joking that the whole team is going to switch to triathlon because it feels like we’ve been swimming on our bikes all week long! But we headed out for a team ride anyway.
Chrissy and I both ordered Showers Pass Roadie Pants (not on their website for some reason? anyways…) and they are FANTASTIC. They are designed to be an inclement weather training pant for serious cyclists – I have ridden in standard plastic rain pants before and they are annoying for long rides, I get wet anyway and they are bulky. The Roadie pants breathe really well and kept me warm and comfortable, it was muuuuuch better than riding in shorts and leg warmers.
The funny thing was that Chrissy and I got teased for wearing our rain pants over top of our shorts because at the beginning of the ride we actually had some sun. But then the rains came, and the teasing stopped… we were the only warm and happy ones!!
Anyhow the skies seem to be clearing and I’m hoping to have time to take my Transition out for a quick spin on dry roads before I leave tomorrow…

But Loren has been telling us all winter that the weather is always perfect in Norcal. Were you not in Northern California?
She was in the wrong part. It’s 60 and sunny right now.
