Six weeks before last weekend’s 5430 Long Course Triathlon, I started using Nutrition 53′s lean-muscle building meal-replacement supplement, Lean1. I was hoping that by drinking one serving every day for 6 weeks, I’d be able to lose my final 3 lbs to get to my goal race-weight of 115. I chronicled my progress on this blog, but I wanted to do a final post on the topic because:

My experiment was successful!!

And, I was really pleased with how my body felt during this experiment, as well as how it looked at the end. I lost 3 lbs and 1.5 cm of waist circumference, yet I maintained my strong quad circumference. These were exactly the results I was hoping for! I am really grateful to Nutrition53 and Lean1 for helping me reach a half Iron PR, win my age group, and finish 7th overall amateur at 5430 Long Course.

I created a little photo gallery of “before” and “after” shots, they aren’t ideal like those magazine photo shoots, but I still notice a big change from my early season races.

Yaaaaay Courtenay!! I’m really happy for you this worked so well. I can see a diff between the WF and the 5430 photos. You look awesome and most importantly, YOU KICKED ASS OUT THERE!
