I'm surprised by how many women don't have soft tape measures. I have one that I keep in my cycling clothing bag.

I expect all cyclists to be lopsided. My right quad is 52.5 cm, while my left quad is 51 cm. Curiously, my right and left biceps are the same size.

Oh boy...now I'm going to want to try this and then I will feel like a giant. How tall are you, Court?

Sigh...well anyway, I'm curious to see how it works for you. Genetically speaking, I just have a really tough time losing weight around my waist; any time I gain wait, it goes to my waist FIRST. I feel like I'd have to give up all wine/beer and cheese to really have a trim midsection. I figure as long as I keep it in check overall then that's good enough for me. Still, I've looked for a way to possibly lose a few lbs during race season and it is SO HARD! I got a sample of Lean 1 but obviously you'd have to buy a lot more if you wanted to see how it worked. So I will see how it works for you and then maybe I'll give it a shot. :)

well, the left one looks a little bigger to me than the right one, but i don't really feel like measuring both and confirming to the whole world that i am LOPSIDED!

i used a string and then measured the lengths on a tape measure, the one i have is metal and it doesn't really make a good circle.

I read Beth's blog too - it is actually what gave me the idea for the quad measurement! (plus it sounds way better than "thigh measurement" - that just makes me think of myself as a piece of chicken or something ;) )

why just the left quad? Steve is convinced his quads are different sizes.

also, how do you weigh less than me if i'm a "pipsqueak"?

now i really want to measure my quad, maybe i can find a tape measurer at work

I look forward to following your progress. Do you read Beth Newell's blog? She measures her quads every Thursday. It's around 62cm, but I wouldn't expect yours to be that big since your waist is much smaller than hers.
