Last night our internet was out, some system-wide thing that the automated voice lady at Charter assured me was high on their priority list and technicians were working hard to solve the problem. I am curious how hard they were working because it was out for 15 hours, but the good news was that in my free time away from the computer, I did 3 loads of laundry and made a salad and watched my favourite Rob & Big episodes on DVD! If any of my readers are Rob & Big fans please let me know, I want someone to quote lines with. Greg and Ben quote Harry Potter and Shrek and Lord of the Rings to each other (I am a fan of none of these), I want a Rob & Big buddy please.
In other news, my swimming is still plugging along at its own pace – no I am not throwing in the proverbial towel, as my post title might indicate! See below for that. Anyway regarding swimming, a few weeks ago, Jen Harrison blogged about needing to get more serious after a string of 2700 yard splash around and play and relax swims (in her Journal, “Here I Am” was the post)… OMG I am stoked when my workouts get into the 2500 and above range! But I am focusing more on technique and form, I can’t read those dumb non-digital clocks anyway, I am pretty sure I am not faster yet because it still takes me about an hour to get to 2500 meters but Coach Greg says that using good technique is slow at first and then you get fast. Perhaps he is just lying to make me feel better though?
Now to address the post title: does anyone need or want a Tyr Microback swimsuit, in purple/lavender (but really it’s pink), size 30? I have only used it a few times. It’s from my Silverman prize, I ordered totally different colors than what they sent me and unfortunately pink is such a bad color for me in workout clothing, thanks to my tendency to turn pink on my own! So let me know if you want it and I will drop it in the mail. Stupid Tyr. I am grateful for the suits but since it took 6 months to get them, you’d think they’d have sent what I asked for you know?

Dang! I love pink! But I’m a 34. Sigh…can’t take your shoes OR your swimsuit! Being tall sucks!
oh yeah which reminds me: if anyone is interested in a cool barely-used pair of brooks race shoes size 8.5 neutral let me know (i am SO not an 8.5… try 7.5) they are a prototype model, i am bummed they are too big
ooo I might be able to wear the shoes, I would opt for a free suit but i am anit-pink, it’s an anti-my sister thing.
I will take either. please bring them to camp. hah.
but these aren’t “pipsqueek” sized shoes!
i will bring both, you and soda can arm-wrestle for them or something.
i have giant feet. and also hands. this is why i am awesome.
I will take that challenge.
My feet are the most giant. I can’t take those because I wear a 9.5. DAMN BIG FEET!
I must be a freak–a wear a size 9 or 9.5 shoe and a size 26 swimsuit!
To answer your question–I swim in an indoor pool. When I’ve swum in an outdoor pool I have kept my backstroke on track my keeping an eye on the lane divider to my side. I’ve seen the kids team at my pool practicing swiming backstoke with cups on their foreheads to keep their heads straight. Maybe this helps to keep the head and thus the body pointing in the right direction.
Did you google Actuary? There are many different types of acturies. I work at an insurance company, as most do. My division of the company sells personal home, auto, valubles, umbrella, and yacht insurance to affluent consumers. I have a couple of primary functions–Pricing and Reserving. Pricing is just what it sounds like–setting the rates based on different types of data. Reserving–figuring how much money needs to be set aside to pay future claims based on historical data. Basically, I do a lot of statistical and data analysis.
I wish you were giving away a pink men’s speedo.
